Beskrivelse

Deep in the forest, a group of mortals gather in a town on the edge of Arcadia. Drawn to the realm of green and gold by their own desires, they have joined together in the hopes that teamwork will help them survive the Thorns. The day before they are set to leave, each recieves a letter from the Pale Queen; an offer they cannot refuse, an invitation to dine at her table.

Each mortal hopes to conquer Fairy in their own ways, and to return unscathed. To do so, they must play by the Queen’s rules….
Basics:

The Pale Queen’s Feast is a litform psychological horror larp inspired by old school irish fairy mythology. There are no jumpscares, gore, or depictions of violence at this larp. The majority of the horror happens inside your own head, as Fairy strips you of everything you thought you knew about yourself and the world around you.

Gameplay is focused around a high-stakes dinner/tea party, with players playing mortal characters who have been invited into the heart of Arcadia by the Faery Queen.

This is a high-transparency, open-sheets game. There are no puzzles to solve, no monsters to fight. There is only you, your fellow mortals, and whatever you might give up along the way.

You can find the full player’s guide here.
Accessibility:

The vast majority of this larp is played while seated at a dining table. Characters will be expected to remain seated for approximately 40 minutes at a time. There will be opportunities to get up and move around, but accomodations can be made for people with mobility issues.

There will be food present! There is a section of the survey available for informing the GMs of any allergies or food sensitivities you may have. Players do not have to eat any of the food to play the game, and can mime eating food if they’d prefer. But ideally we would like to have at least some options for everyone present.
What is this game about?
The Pale Queen’s Feast is a “type two” game that focuses on:

Instilling feelings of discomfort, disquiet, and anxiety in the players.
Dinner warfare and tense social dynamics.
Powerlessness in the face of a much more powerful entity.
Characters being stripped of all sense of safety and self.
Facing predicaments with no clear “good” solution.
Deeply flawed, morally gray characters faced with morally complex situations.

This game is NOT about:

Fighting back or physical violence.
Solving puzzles or finding definitive, satisfying solutions to problems.
“Morally binary” characters or “good vs evil” narratives.
Happy Endings
Successfully achieving your character’s goals.

Content Warnings

This is a “type 2” fun game, with far more “bad endings” for characters than good ones. Not every content warning listed is present on every character sheet. However, due to the intimate setting and interconnected nature of the plot, all participants will be in close emotional and narrative proximity to characters who include and may discuss the themes listed.
