Short Description: Ice Station Helion B is an EU station for long term scientific research. Mainly the taking of ice cores, and weather and atmospheric readings. During summer it has a population of about two dozen scientists, as winter drops that reduces to only a half dozen or so.
The nearest other major station is four hundred kilometres away, during winter months atmospheric conditions make communication and travel difficult. The likelihood of rescue is low.
