The party wizard has been asked by his patron to recover a magic artifact that has been stolen by a powerful wizard known as the Necron, and his fellow adventurers are "invited" to join him on the quest. The artifact, known as the Balance Blade, is crucial in maintaining the cosmic balance between Law and Chaos. If the Necron should use it inappropriately, the entire balance of the universe could be destroyed.
