Description

Two vampires meet again after decades apart. One was once an artist, now exhibiting old works; the other, the widow of a great patron and a respected connoisseur. Long ago, at a turning point in the artist’s career, they found in each other an intensity neither had known before. But the connoisseur never used their influence, and the artist never asked. Nothing was spoken, nothing promised. Tension grew until the artist cut ties, and silence followed for years.

Now, with vampires rare, the artist has invited: “Come see an exhibition from a previous life.” To their surprise, the connoisseur agreed. Together they enter the gallery, both carrying expectations. The artist wants to show one particular piece. The connoisseur hopes to learn whether it was truly meant for them—or if that night, when everything almost changed, was only an illusion.
