Beschreibung
Indenfor de rammer vil spillerne have rum til at tage fuldt ejerskab over karakterernes udvikling og følelsesmæssige rejse gennem fortællingen.
Content notes
Vold, diskrimination, tab af nære familiemedlemmer.
Spillertype:
A group of refugees band together and must cross their war-torn kingdom on a journey toward a better place. Along the way, they discover whether they can hold on to the life they left behind, and the person they once were.
A scenario about life on the run, about the people you meet along the way, about the things you leave behind, about friendship among strangers, and about the journey toward a better place.
The Wanderers is a drama/adventure roleplaying scenario about being a refugee, set in a recognizable world inspired by Nordic folk tales. The story blends the darkness, tragedy, and realism of life as a refugee with warmth, a sense of wonder, and an underlying hopefulness.
The scenario follows a small group of refugees and their journey through their war-ravaged kingdom, Drada, both in the many quiet, lingering moments on the road and around the campfire, and in the dramatic moments where everything is at stake.
The scenario follows a fixed structure with predetermined scenes. Within this framework, the players have room to take full ownership of the characters’ development and emotional journey through the story.
Type of participant:
You want to explore life as a refugee, and enjoy a grounded, character-focused story where the journey matters more than the destination, and where time is taken for both the small joys and great sorrows of life.
Type of game facilitator:
You enjoy asking thoughtful questions, cutting scenes before lingering moments drag on, and portraying a handful of supporting characters. The scenes are predefined and provide a solid framework to lean on, while still leaving room for you to put your own mark on the atmosphere, descriptions, and NPCs.

Strangers flee together through wartorn Drada. Though they all dream of a better life on the other side of the mountains, the journey itself is the focus of the story: Who the wanderers meet, what they leave behind, and which relations they forge with each other, becomes the focal point for a poetic drama about hope, loss, and the magic in meeting others, in this well designed and moving scenario.
Gewinner, Bedste Roller
With few belongings and terrible losses in their baggage the characters wander north with a fragile hope of a new start in the land beyond the mountains. The descriptions of traumas and dreams catch your heart, and each lost belonging is felt as a terrible sorrow. And even though the characters are strangers when they meet, they become each others’ sole chance to make the journey. Cooperation and mutual respect is the only way to attain dignity, when the rest of the world has turned their backs on them.
Nominiert, Bedste Fortælling
Beautiful background stories are woven together with the horrors of war, new meetings and sporadic hope as the refugees from Drada journey towards a better place beyond the mountains. The scenes switch between wandering, drama and poetic moments at the campfire, where lost possessions create bonds between past, present and potential new friendships. A moving tale, where tears well up as the birds of the sky symbolically follow the wandering fates.
Nominiert, Bedste Formidling – Rollespil
A beautiful, picturesque and yet entirely concrete language creates the at once somber and uplifting mood of the game. Everything feels light and poetic, and there isn’t one ounce of superfluous information in the skillfully structured scenario text. Tone, action and theme is clearly established, while the simple drawings elegantly support the feeling of the journey towards a better life. The beautiful map provides an overview of both the kingdom and the narrative.
