No matter who you are - be it Danish prince, forgotten demon princess or misshapen mutant - you’ve always believed yourself to be the most tortured creature in existence. To make matter worse, you’ve received a letter from a strange entity known as the Dealer, who is offering you a chance to compete for that exact title. All you have to do is grab the letter, utter a few words, and you’ll have a chance to play against other tortured beings for a single wish. And a wish is a really powerful thing these days. No tricks, no scams, no cons. Just an earnest invite to a poker game you’ll never forget.

Well… shall we deal you in?

Crisis on Infinite Bluffs is a crossover fan-fiction LARP based around characters competing for the title of the most tortured being in the multiverse through a friendly poker match. Players will pick any character from any pre-existing work of fiction (as long as said character would justifiably accept the Dealer’s invitation), and play a poker match against similar characters. If you’ve never played poker before or don’t fancy yourself a professional player, don’t worry. Because like all great poker matches amongst friends, the goal isn’t the game but the conversation and everything else that happens in between. You can try to cheat, help others, or just throw the game. Anything goes… except violence, of course.

Instead of the usual casting surveys, players will be asked to submit their characters for approval, sharing some of their highest and lowest moments that will be included as stories to be shared throughout the game. Players may also submit powers for approval, and as mentioned before, anything goes except for violence (though if you submit a character with the power to snap their fingers and win a game, you might just find yourself playing against someone who can do the exact same thing as you).

The LARP will take place over 90 minutes, with a 15 minute introduction between the players (including a practice round where cards will be played face-up so all players can understand the rules of the game), a 60 minute game, and a 15 minute debrief. While knowing how to play poker is a requirement, playing it well isn’t. Players are encouraged not to play to win, but rather play to have fun. The Dealer hates it when you don’t have fun.

Content Warnings
As part of the submission process, players will provide a list of topics and themes someone might encounter when interacting with their character. This list will be provided to every player, and we’ll work together to establish a common tone, as well as any subjects that should be avoided.
